Our Music Studio Philosophy
This music and movement program based on the beliefs that every child is musical, and that based on research, music nurtures a child’s cognitive, emotional, social, language and physical development. From birth to seven, your children can experience the magic of music without the pressure to perform...just the encouragement and guidance to stretch their boundaries with creativity and fun. Rich assortments of musical activities are designed to promote language development, thinking skills, listening skills, coordination and social interaction while cultivating your child’s imagination.
OMS's philosophy is founded upon rigorous research and our fundamental beliefs:
OMS's philosophy is founded upon rigorous research and our fundamental beliefs:
- Every parent is the child's most important teacher.
- Every child is musical.
- The home is the most important learning environment.
- Music nurtures a child's cognitive, emotional, social, language, and physical development.
- Every child should experience the joy, fun, and learning which music brings to life.
OMS is much more than a weekly class. And your At Home materials you receive from your educator are just the tools you need to continue that one-of-a-kind experience together as a family. While we plant the seeds of learning through music in the classroom, you will use the At Home materials at home to cultivate lifelong learning.
Family involvement in your child’s learning is a fundamental cornerstone of the OMS philosophy because we believe the parent is the child’s most important teacher and the home is the most important place for a child’s learning to take root and grow. After all, there’s no better way to nurture your child’s development – and you’ll love doing it together – every day!
